On December the 20th, we march to Plaza de Mayo

Workers Party (Translation by Alan Chokler and Miles Harvey)

A threat from the big financial and industrial corporations was enough for Massa’s, the Justicialist Party’s and the Kirchnerist senators to “call it a day”.

The so-called opposition couldn't even defend the meagre and limited reduction on wage tax that it had voted for a few days before.

We, the workers, will continue to lose part of our salaries in order to pay for the extortionate foreign debt and to maintain the millions' worth in subsidies and bailouts to benefit the capitalists.

The same situation arose months ago with the “Anti-layoffs Bill”, vetoed by President Macri, without  a flinch from the opposition. The union bureaucrats kept their mouths shut throughout, then and now. They are the firmest allies of the economic adjustment policies that Macri and the provinces' governors are carrying out.

The class-conscious and the Left will march on December 20th to oppose this pact against the working class.

On this new anniversary of the “Argentinazo”, the main political issue remains the same: we, the workers must take control of the future of our demands.

With this message, and in opposition to those who want to shackle our organizations to a truce with no future, we shall take to the streets for the definitive abolition of wage-tax, for the re-opening of salary negotiations and for the raise in pension payouts. We will also demand an end to suspensions and layoffs,  demand job creation and the transfer to permanent staff with equal rights and benefits for unemployed and casual workers.
